Last month, I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Andy Kovszun (@noshoes_noworries). A little background on Andy: she's originally from a small island in St. Martin, a place she described as paradise. After moving to Paris for university, she eventually found herself in Sydney, Australia, where she’s made her home. Andy is one of the most inspiring people I’ve had the privilege of meeting. Her intelligence, kindness, and undeniable drive to turn her passion into a full-time career are nothing short of awe-inspiring. She truly embodies the saying, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.”

For those who may be new here (hi!), I’m based in Melbourne, which, as you know, is a beautiful city but I’ll admit, Sydney holds a special place in my heart. When Andy agreed to do the interview, I didn’t think twice before booking my flights and accommodation. Fortunately, I’ve built amazing connections in Sydney, so finding a studio wasn’t an issue at all.
I arrived the day before the interview to get settled in, and of course, I couldn’t miss doing the Bronte-to-Bondi coastal walk. It’s a tradition for me every time I visit Sydney it’s my way of grounding myself before any big event or job. The rest of the day was spent relaxing, reviewing my questions, and sorting out any last-minute prep.
The day of the interview
When the day of the interview finally arrived, the nerves kicked in, as they always do. No matter how many interviews I do, there’s always that rush of adrenaline. I got ready, packed my bags, and headed to the studio with my team.
We arrived early to set everything up lights, cameras, mics you name it. I took some time to mentally prepare and review my questions one last time. Then, like a scene from a movie, a purple Jeep pulled into the parking lot. My first thought? “That is so Andy.” She stepped out, radiating warmth with the biggest smile, and I knew this was going to be a special interview.
After a quick mic check, we dove right in. Andy was a natural her energy was contagious, and the conversation flowed effortlessly.

Andy shared stories from her childhood, painting vivid pictures of life growing up on the idyllic island of St. Martin. She talked about her bold move to Paris, where she pursued her studies, and later, her transition to Sydney, a place she now calls home. Her journey has been anything but ordinary she’s lived what feels like a thousand different lives, and each chapter of her story is more fascinating than the last.
During the interview, she dropped some exciting hints about upcoming projects she’s been working on things I wish I could share, but I’ll let her reveal them when the time is right. She also talked about her passion for surfing, a sport that’s become a huge part of her life. Andy is hosting several surf trips this year, and trust me, they sound like something you won’t want to miss.
Spending time with Andy left me feeling inspired and motivated. She’s a shining example of how chasing your passions and staying true to yourself can lead to incredible success. Her authenticity and zest for life are infectious it’s no wonder she’s built such a loyal community of followers.
As we wrapped up the interview, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the experience. Meeting people like Andy reminds me why I do what I do sharing stories that inspire, uplift, and connect us.
