with Prime Skin Jelly Plump Launch 2024
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the launch event for Prime Skin’s exciting new 3-in-1 Jelly Plump. Hosted by the wonderful founders Jana and Krysten, along with their talented social media and marketing manager Chloe, the evening was a celebration of innovation, community, and skincare. It was an unforgettable night that combined inspiring conversations, heartfelt speeches, and, of course, an exceptional dining experience.
My Journey with Prime Skin
My journey with Prime Skin began in 2021 when I was invited to create short content for their Tips & Tricks channel. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them ever since, and it’s been amazing to see how the brand has grown. Fast forward to 2024, and I was invited to the launch of their latest product—the Jelly Plump, a 3-in-1 makeup-removing balm, daily cleanser, and hydration mask. I was so excited to attend and see firsthand the dedication and care that has gone into creating this game-changing product.
The event took place at the beautiful Botanical Hotel in South Yarra, a venue that radiated both elegance and warmth. The space was perfect for the occasion, with its chic yet relaxed atmosphere creating an ideal backdrop for the evening. As guests arrived, we mingled over drinks and had the chance to catch up with industry friends before sitting down to dinner.
While the main event was all about the launch of the Jelly Plump, it was the food that really elevated the evening. The carefully curated menu was both indulgent and sophisticated, and I wanted to share a little about the dishes I had the pleasure of enjoying.
The evening began with a selection of oysters, starting with freshly shucked natural oysters, served with a tangy shallot vinaigrette and a squeeze of lemon. Though I didn’t try them myself, they were described as refreshingly briny and simple, yet utterly delicious. For those preferring something with a bit more punch, the Classic Kilpatrick oysters were a standout. Topped with Worcestershire sauce and crispy bacon, they offered a smoky, cippolini flavour that perfectly complemented the oysters' natural freshness.
Moving on to the entrée, we were treated to succulent king prawns dressed in a creamy Marie Rose sauce, paired with delicate trout pearls and fresh Cos Gem lettuce. The dish was light and fresh, with the prawns cooked to perfection and the tangy sauce adding a delightful contrast to their sweetness. For the main course, I chose the 270g grain-fed beef steak from Rangers Valley, NSW, and it was an absolute standout. Cooked to perfection, the steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The braised cippolini onions added a subtle sweetness that beautifully complemented the richness of the beef, while the bold, creamy sauce au poivre took the dish to another level. Accompanied by perfectly crispy fries, it was a steak lover’s dream.
While the food was certainly a highlight of the evening, the real heart of the event was Prime Skin’s new product launch. Jana and Krysten took the time to share the inspiration and thought process behind the Jelly Plump, explaining how it was designed to simplify skincare routines by combining three key functions in one product: a makeup-removing balm, daily cleanser, and hydration mask. The level of thought and care that went into the product was truly inspiring, and it’s exciting to see how it will help so many people streamline their skincare routines while still getting top-notch results.
